Weddings are said to be made in heaven. This white destination wedding held in the Morrocan sunshine was enchanting. British actor Idris Elba, known for his role in Avengers and his hit Television series Luther, wed his former model wife Sabrina during the summer on the 26th of April 2019 in Marrakech in Morocco. A destination fit for a god, we narrowed a few takeaways that still leave us speechless. 

1) The White Dress

Though the wedding went on for three days with a wide range of gowns and dresses, Sabrina chose the goddess of wedding dresses for the ceremony. Her Sabine Vera Wang gown customized with french tulle was an off-shoulder gown accompanied by a net veil with an intricate lace border. Accessories included diamond drop earrings, a diamond bracelet and her engagement ring.

Sabrina chose to wear her hair in a chignon keeping in mind the Morrocan sunshine. The look was perfect for any summer wedding and the veil added that touch of elegance to the blushing bride.

No celebrity wedding is complete without a makeup mogul in attendance. However, Sabrina not only had the pleasure of having Charlotte Tilbury at her wedding, she even did her makeup. 

The makeup was soft, subtle and summery. They chose to go with tones of rose gold with well-defined eyebrows and a full lip. The look accentuated the entire ensemble, transforming her into a picture of a perfect bride on her wedding day. 

4) The Handsome Groom

Idris Elba picked a well-tailored suit and tie from Savile Row. The 47-year-old actor struts down the aisle in style and panache. He later told Vogue that he and Sabrina have been inseparable since they met in 2017. His third time around, he loves that she nurtures the best in him and helps him connect with everyone near and dear to him.

‘Ksar Char Bagh hotel’ in Marrakech, Morocco set the ambience of this gorgeous wedding. The couple is seen here at the altar, with a multitude of white flowers filling the borders of the aisle and adorning the altar. Notice that no other decorations were added to the white altar. It gave the entire ceremony a heavenly feeling with a touch of a summer breeze.

Here the couple is seen under glorious arches of white flowers. The earthy tones of the hotel provided the perfect blend between the white and green. It left the ceremony looking like a Disney movie.

The bride also picked a bouquet of white roses to accompany her and her mum down the aisle. The luxury of white roses, tulips and springs of orchids was truly a sign of the love they share for each other.

The three-day extravagant wedding was the perfect way to start a new life together. Two beautiful people sharing their love with their loved ones is something that each and every guest will cherish. Sabrina added that she wanted each guest to leave remembering the importance of love.
