The first time I discovered Akanksha Gajria’s Instagram page, I was ‘WOWED’ by her designs creations, and there has been no turning back ever since!
The edgy cuts, the contemporary styles, the mirror-work, the offbeat hues make her outfits drool-worthy and enviable. These outfits are a perfect pick, especially for your mehendi or sangeet ceremony, mainly because these functions are where you can go all out when it comes to experimenting with colours and styles. My love for these vibrant, gorgeous and contemporary outfits has grown ever since I came across her work. I have fallen in love with her creations and I felt it was only fair if I share it with y’all for some inspiration.
Here’s a glimpse into the outfits which are a riot of colours:
Look 1
Tie and Dye Couple
If you want to add colours to your mehendi ceremony (literally), then this ‘Rangeen Lehenga’ is a must-have in your bridal trousseau. The floral mirror-work, the choice of vivid colours used in the lehenga skirt, the edgy necklace, and the fuschia pink floral jewellery are a sight to behold!
This couple in Nairobi flaunted the label’s outfit at their Sangeet ceremony, picking outfits from the tie and dye palette. What’s surprising? Although they chose their colours, their outfits look so coordinated and as if they were intentionally matched. Not to miss the groom’s elegant sky blue kurta and churidar paired with a sky blue and white bandhgala tie-dye jacket.
Look 2
Riot of colours
This bride’s outfit feels nothing short of a canvas painted with colours – a delight to the eyes! This ‘Tiered Gypsy lehenga’ with a colourful shimmery blouse is a drool-worthy pick for the modern bride! Not to miss the groom’s outfit, which was inspired by Ranveer Singh’s mehendi outfit.
Look 3
Pastel and Blingy
Binny Thakur looks gorgeous in this refreshing peach and aqua tie-dye mirror lehenga. Not to miss the floral-mirror encrusted jacket choli and a subtle sheer peach dupatta.
You could flaunt it at your mehendi ceremony or any other afternoon wedding function, owing to its pastel hue.
Look 4
Casual and Chic
Most brides may deem the jumpsuit to be rather too casual for a wedding function. Akanksha Gajria, however, has busted this myth with her latest creation. This baby pink and yummy powder blue jumpsuit with mini elephant zari motifs on alternate panels.
You could wear this at a pool party, at your mehendi ceremony or a beach party.
So, gals, its time to experiment with some new styles!
