Essential Items for your Bridal Survival Kit
The important day has arrived. I am sure you want it to be perfect, stress-free and you want to have the time of your life. And hey! You deserve it. After days, weeks and months of planning for your wedding and taking care of everything, from the venue to the decor and from the food to the outfits, it is likely that you may miss out some important and pretty obvious items.
Well, I am not saying you won’t be able to survive your wedding day without these. But, I can assure you that if you have this kit kept handy, your wedding ceremony is going to be nothing less than a breeze- sans glitches, last-minute mishaps and lots of stress and tears.
Here is a list of items, which you must include in your survival kit without fail:
1. Sewing Kit
This should include the basics- sewing needles, safety pins, hem tape, thread and a small pair of scissors. Don’t forget that the colour of the thread should match the colour of your wedding outfit. Adding a couple of safety pins into this pouch can prove to be quite helpful for any last minute emergencies.
2. Bottled Water
Don’t forget to keep yourself hydrated during the wedding ceremony. This is something brides usually tend to not pay attention to. Also, it is better to keep water handy just in case you start coughing or your throat starts to get dry.
3. Quick Bites
The wedding jitters, anxiety, and the excitement, play a predominant role in driving brides away from food. However, it is of utmost importance to keep small portions of food handy at all times. Something like a chocolate or a protein bar can be a good pick.
4. Tissues
Imagine this- You end up spilling water on yourself or your lipstick gets smeared or your kohl starts smudging around your eyes (just in case you get emotional). I bet you want to avoid these mishaps!
5. Mints
As a bride, you won’t get the time and neither you will have the energy to keep a check on the bad breath or go to the washroom to gargle at regular intervals. It is best to keep pooping a mint or two, every few hours.
6. Lipstick
It is your wedding day! It goes without saying that your lipstick is extremely important and you cannot forget to ensure that it hasn’t spread or completely come off. Imagine yourself not wearing any lipstick in those beautiful pictures 🙁
7. Perfume/Deodorant
I am assuming that along with looking good on your D-day, you also want to smell good, actually great! Make sure you have a tiny perfume or deodorant handy. It’s best if it is not too strong or too mild.
8. Band-Aids/ PainKillers
There are chances that days of anxiety, hectic schedules, and tensed nerves could lead to an unbearable headache. It is best if the kit includes a couple of painkillers. But, do make sure they are tried and tested ones. You don’t want to end up having a pain killer or any other medicine on your wedding, which you have not tried before and may or may not suit you. Don’t forget the band-aids in case of unforeseen cuts, scrapes or shoe bites.
