Introducing Navi Pillai, who did not let cancer dictate her story & her bridal look!
Life throws many curve balls in our direction but ultimately it is our reaction that dictates our fate. Our elders have asked us countless times to “always stay positive”, “keep smiling” etc etc. We retort and say, “It’s easier said than done!” But not this bride. She made sure that a life threatening disease like cancer does not drown her spirits. She took everything in her stride, got her bridal makeup done to the T, wore a silk kanjeevaram saree and marched the aisle with utter confidence and a killer smile! And I must say she is definitely one of the prettiest brides I have ever come across!
Meet Navi Indran Pillai, a brave heart and a cancer survivor who truly believes, ‘what doesn’t kill you, makes your stronger.’ She documents her journey on her Instagram account and I assure you, her journey is just as beautiful as her!
She recently tied the knot with the love of her life and looked like ethereal in kanjivaram saree and jewellery! She says, “For me, as a cancer survivor, I dreamt the day I marry the love of my life. Dreamt, what it is like to look like a bride, to feel like a bride. Having gone through cancer treatments (chemotherapy, etc.), losing my hair was by far the hardest thing I ever had to go through. I felt that was not beautiful enough to be loved and was not beautiful enough to look or ever feel like a bride again. Hair, it is our ‘crowning glory’ and having that taken away from you is devastating. But we choose to accept what we have, appreciate what we are and welcome what is coming.”
