What do you expect from the wedding of a social media star, a successful fashion blogger, a trending YouTuber & a super hairstylist? A wedding with stunning setup, picturesque backdrops, drool worthy outfits and some crazy makeup & hairstyle goals!, right? Well, we came across one such wedding which is going to leave you with loads of inspiration for yours!
Kavya D’souza of StreakHueFall had made us drool over her engagement pictures when she exchanged rings with her longtime beau, Anish in an intimate ceremony. She recently had a fun and quirky bachelorette weekend and since then I was already awaiting her wedding pictures, specially when it’s been shot by the ace photographer – Naman Verma himself!
Scroll down to take a peek into this surreal wedding ceremony and follow her on her journey of love:
Haldi :
Kavya says, “We kick-started the wedding functions with the haldi ceremony. Being a complete emotional wreck (I was crying right from the time I boarded the flight from Bombay to Kerala!), I was sobbing halfway through this ceremony watching my parents and our families applying haldi to me and Anish. It immediately took me back to the childhood times and the bittersweet realization how the next three days would be life-changing.”
Mehendi :
Kavya – “A tungsten sunset, dozen lit candles and henna stained hands. I wanted my personal mehendi to be really intimate and warm and it was just that and more’”
Outfit – Label D
Mehendi on the boat :
The bride says, “To kick off the first function once all our families and friends had checked in, we had a mehendi on a boat! 🛥 Cruising through the backwaters of Kerala to the tunes of punjabi singer + dhol we had a pitstop to dance away on a platform floating right in the middle of the water while witnessing the sunset!! It all made for such a mad beautiful evening with the best of people that this might just be one of my favorite evenings from the 3 days!!”
The chooda ceremony:
Kavya – “Ours was a wedding where we picked the best of both the cultures and traditions from north and south and then went ahead and gave it our own spin! As it is with Punjabi culture, we had my chooda ceremony on the morning of our wedding (which too was typically a south indian style wedding with some north indian influences!). The chooda is typically to be worn for a stipulated period of time post the wedding by a bride and as I type this I realized how today I finish the 40 days time frame! How time flies.”
The Wedding:
She says, “The morning of our wedding – I think I was at my most vulnerable then and it’s crazy how I still can’t think of a caption to correctly word my emotions, at that very moment, even now. So going to just leave it with this picture which is exactly how I (for as long as I can remember) envisioned myself as a bride.”
