Monika and Sanket Aurangabad Wedding

‘When an arranged match proposition turns out in finding the true love of life!’

The Story

Introduced to each other by their respective families, Monika and Sanket’s story is one beautiful seamless journey. Though they both started out being shy and confused about each other, their respective parents were completely understanding in giving them time and not pushing them to rush things. So, after the first few inhibitions and reservations, both started bonding with each other though based in two different cities. While Monika was residing in Aurangabad, home for Sanket meant Pune. As Sanket felt a stronger attraction towards Monika since the beginning, this young man decided to take matters in his hand and make the first big move. This meant travelling all the way to Aurangabad just to watch a movie with his lady love! Or even taking the long route to her city to apologize and make up after a tiff!

No wonder Sanket ended up conquering her heart and making her his life-long partner!

The Proposal

Theirs was a dreamy proposal, just like the ones you see in movies! Lakes, boats and lanterns, couldn’t it be more romantic than this? To hear it from the man of the moment Sanket, who fondly reminisces the entire proposal plan and says, “It was 26th December 2018, when I proposed to her. So the plan started 2 months ago and in that time period, I had a rough idea of what I was thinking to do for that special day. I wanted it to be done on a lake with lanterns and on a boat with fireworks. I made sure that she wears the clothes that I bought for her on that day so I had to buy four sets of clothes to let her have options and choose. I planned to travel 1100 km in 21 hours thanks to my car so that I could pick her up from home and take her to the place where I planned to propose to her. And I was totally thrilled when she said yes. That was the month where she and I got to know each other on a different level.” 

Who can say so no to such a splendid proposal? It is not surprising that Monika ended up giving him a green signal!

The Wedding

Sanket, the man of surprises and Monika, the enchanted lady had the most elaborate, traditional and happening wedding one can imagine! Their festivities kickstarted with the haldi ceremony. They had a South Indian themed haldi. It started with ceremonial bathing of the bride and groom amidst cloudy skies. And guess what? This time the rains surprised this couple! As every cloud has a silver lining, once the rain gods had showered their blessings and left, the ceremony was resumed with even more spirit and vigour! This was followed by a few rounds of grand flower showers on the couple. That was a surreal, gorgeous & stunning sight that was frozen in the cameras!

The Sangeet followed next. It started with a grand entry of the couple in a chariot. That magical evening saw a lot of performances from close family, friends and relatives. Monika enthralled the audience with her performance. As Sanket & surprises go hand in hand he pulled off a surprise dance performance for Monika! What followed next was a beautiful couple dance performance post which the families got together on stage for candid moments. As fireworks lit the sky, everyone present was overwhelmed with emotions!

Finally, the much-awaited day, the wedding day commenced with the vidhis. There were smiling glances and happiness throughout the wedding. It was followed by the baraat & antarpat. And thus, vows for lifetime togetherness were sealed. The wedding ended with a surprise music performance by Gilbert Gauci (Sanket’s friend from Scotland who is an amazing singer)

The grand reception in the evening was a perfect culmination of all the events put together. And  Monika & Sanket’s entry amidst the pyro fireworks & Thai dancers was a sight to behold! One can safely say that their wedding journey was as seamless as their journey of love.

Just like their top-notch arrangements, Sanket and Monika totally owned each of their looks. Monika dazzled in a gorgeous mustard saree for her haldi while Sanket kept it simple yet elegant in a beige kurta-pyjama. For the sangeet, Monika opted for a grey sequined lehenga while Sanket rocked in a bold black bandhgala and churidar. For the wedding, the bride looked like a dream in her intricate pink lehenga while Sanket was a Sabyasachi groom in a stunning blue sherwani! The reception saw Monika don a gorgeous red gown while Sanket complimented her in a smart black tux.

About the Photographer

The crew at Knots By AMP helmed the lens for their wedding. The couple recount having a truly splendid time collaborating with them. The timeless images from their wedding album are a testament to this fact.
