Chinmay & Prapti Ahmedabad : A Paris proposal and a Panchtatva themed wedding with every element representing different functions
This wedding incorporated five elements- Water, Air, Fire, Space and Earth into the decor in the most creative and interesting way possible. These wedding revelries are so charming and opulent, you wouldn’t want to miss the pictures…
About the couple..
Prapti and Chinmay met at an inter-college event, where Prapti was choreographing the fashion show while Chinmay was participating as the model. During the span of this event, their friendship grew stronger over cups of coffee and rides to and from college.
Post the event, their journey of love began to blossom with prolonged text messages and phone calls. After more calls, meetings and secret trips, they entered into a relationship. Soon, they decided to advance their careers in the US and destiny played a vital role as Prapti got admission in California, while Chinmay got admission in New York. With facetime calls and on and off trips during vacations, they even managed to keep their long distance relationship exciting and romantic.
The Proposal..
Chinmay planned a surprise trip to Paris, where he proposed to Prapti in the most romantic way possible in front of the Eiffel Tower and of course she said YES! The best part of this proposal was that Chinmay had hired a professional photographer to capture the beautiful and special moments they shared, forever!
The Wedding Festivities..
Mehendi
The mehendi was an intimate affair with close friends and family. The seating saw cloth patches put behind the bride’s seating arrangement. Prapti and Chinmay adorned colour-coordinated outfits- Prapti flaunted a black lehenga skirt with a blouse and a stunning embroidered jacket. Chinmay on the other hand, looked all classy in a black kurta paired with a beige nehru jacket.
Ganesh Puja and Pithi ceremony
The day began with the holy ganesh puja at both the bride and groom’s place respectively. The aim of the puja was to ensure prosperity and happiness in both their lives and to seek divine blessings before the couple would start their new journey in life. The decoration was vivacious and peppy, keeping it in sync with the occasion. Prapti wore a stunning and elegant bridal saree, paired with a minimalistic choker, pair of earrings and a subtle maang tikka. She looked absolutely ethereal. The groom wore a very light powder blue kurta chudhidar with a printed nehru jacket.
Quirky elements, hues of pink and red and jaipuri cushions created a casual, ethnic and mesmerizing vibe. The embroidery hoops with the couple’s pictures on it and the DIY backdrop were the highlights of the function. Brass vessels filled with flowers exudes a rustic sort of feel and these added the extra oomph and did justice to the theme.
For the pithi ceremony, the bride picked a loose yellow maxi dress paired with a rani haar, while Chinmay wore an understated and simple blue kurta pyjama.
Sangeet
Floral arch, printed drapes, lanterns and a cute signage- the sangeet decor was palpable and drool-worthy. The seating area had a ceiling decor made up of hanging glass bulbs, giving it a contemporary look. A cute little photo booth set-up was also arranged for the couple and the guests, to get some AWWesome pictures!
Prapti donned a light powder blue lehenga, with gold work and a pastel pink sheer dupatta. She teamed her outfit with an elegant polki necklace and kept her makeup rather minimalistic. Chinmay wore an asymmetrically designed navy blue achkan.
Wedding
The wedding revolves around a Panchtatva theme and the designer beautifully incorporated all the elements. The mandap was set on a lotus lake. The backdrop was made up of beautiful marigolds and looked bright and vibrant. The bride looked a million bucks in her ethereal ivory lehenga, while the groom donned a mint green sherwani.
Reception
This was an opulent, outdoor ceremony and the photos made us go ‘WOW’! Prapti wore a deep maroon gown with blingy embellishments, while Chinmay stole the show and looked debonair in a crisp grey tuxedo. Trees wrapped in pretty fairy lights and cascading light bulbs made this decor stand out!
About the photographer..
“They were extremely comfortable to work with. They almost became a part of our families during the functions, so everyone enjoyed being clicked by them. I love how they convey a story through the pictures, instead of the conventional photography. Each picture has a life of its own.”
