This wedding brought one entire Swiss town to a hault! #BigFatIndianWedding

It’s not everyday that you see a wedding bringing one whole town to a halt and it’s more big of a deal when that town is Montreux, Switzerland. We recently came across this Indian NRI couple – Tanya Gangwani and Rajiv Verma whose wedding pretty much did this!

Tanya Ganwani, the granddaughter of Lal Ganwani, founder of Dubai-based Lals Group that operates brands such as Homes R Us, Lamcy Plaza, Arabian Center, Carter’s, and Daiso Japan (to name a few) recently tied the knot with her long time beau Rajiv Varma. The groom’s parents Shobha and Moni Verma are London based exporters. Check out this big fat Indian wedding’s pictures below-

Roka:

The duo hosted their roka earlier this year at the lush venues in Atlantis. It was followed by an extravagant reception at Atlantis The Palm, Dubai.

While the poolside was decorated with marquee lights that read #TanysRaj and fresh petals, the rest of the area was decked in floral stings, beautiful floral arrangements, and even a concept bar.

Engagement party:

For their engagement Tanya opted for a embellished beige lehenga paired with a full sleeved blouse, featuring intricate work on it, Rajiv chose a wear a navy blue bandhgala with well-fitted pants.

The decor of this lavish affair was bedecked with red roses and illuminated with striking chandeliers looking right out of a fairy tale.

For the wedding and pre-wedding functions, the couple choose Switzerland for their destination wedding, muse to some of Bollywood’s most popular romantic dance numbers of all time. With Snow-capped peaks behind you, palm trees in front, it comes as no surprise that Tanya chose to host her nuptials at Fairmont Le Montreux Palace.

Mehendi:

The wedding celebrations kicked off with a daytime mehendi function. Vibrant flowers were seen all around the venue, while the snow-capped mountains posed as the perfect backdrop to the setup.

I am finding it really hard to take my eyes off Tanya’s yellow lehenga paired with an halter neck embellished bustier and a sheer dupatta draped like a saree.

Wedding:

For the wedding, the outdoor space at the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace was decorated in shades of pink and white. While a large mandap decorated using pink drapes and fresh flowers stood overlooking the mountains, two large elephants created using pink blooms made for the key decor elements. Ah-mazing right?

Flowers in ornate vases dotted the venue furthering the charm of the setup.

Tanya’s baraat:

Tanya took the traditional route and donned a red lehenga for taking the wedding vows while Rajiv looked dapper in a white achkan which he paired with a jade green saafa.

Reception:

The final event was the most awaited with the decor literally looking right out of a movie.
