Anivek & Tania Chandigarh : This couple had a minimalistic yet gorgeous Hindu wedding and Anand Karaj!

This couple’s fairytale love story was as beautiful as their wedding ceremony. Read more to know how they got hitched…

About the lovebirds

Sometimes you meet a person and you just click- you’re comfortable with them, like you’ve known them your whole life, and you don’t have to pretend to be anyone or anything.

Tania and Anivek met through a common friend in October 2018. The day they met they just knew that something had clicked and they were meant to be. They wanted to get married to each other from day one. There was a sense of familiarity between them, a feeling of effortlessness. The best part was nothing elaborate happened! There was no proposal, they just knew they had to spend a lifetime together!

Tania, the bride, says, “The best thing about Anivek is that he answered all my questions without me questioning him.”

Isn’t that magical?

Wedding Planning

Both the respective families put in a lot of effort into planning the wedding. The couple had a year to plan it all. They wanted to be a part of all the wedding planning and discussions, however, at the same time they did not want their work to suffer. “There were times we had to make a few adjustments. For example, if I was busy at work, Anivek made sure he attended vendor meetings and vice versa.”

Wedding Festivities

Haldi and mehendi ceremony

The festivities kicked off with Anivek’s Vatna (haldi) ceremony. Tania’s mehendi ceremony took place simultaneously. Anivek wore a white kurta and churidar paired with an unconventional black bandhgala jacket with interesting designs on it. Tania looked stunning in an elegant and understated red lehenga with a dash of shimmer on it.

Post this, the bride changed her attire for her vatna ceremony. The evening was filled with entertainment, dance performances, and loads of fun!

Hindu wedding and Anand Karaj

The day wedding was a rather intimate affair. The couple had a Hindu wedding followed by an Anand Karaj. The bride flaunted a striking mango-hued lehenga replete with gold embellishment. She paired her attire with multi-coloured statement choker and maangtikka, along with a minimalistic classic nath. Anivek looked dapper in a beige achkan, paired with a green neckpiece and a safa that complemented Tania’s lehenga colour. He carried his ancestral sword for the Anand Karaj ceremony.

Reception

Thereafter, the couple had an extravagant reception. The bride looked like a billion bucks in a silver shimmery lehenga, while the groom looked suave in a crisp blue bandhgala paired with blue trousers.

About the bride’s wedding ensemble

“I was very clear about the wedding lehenga I wanted to wear. Bamby Singh has been making all my Indian-wear outfits for years. I knew she will be the only designer to make a lehenga without any buckram or cancan material and instead just give a lot of kallis- giving the lehenga a natural flow. My jewellery is from Shri Paramani Jewels, Khan market. The funny part is that I picked my jewellery set two years before getting hitched.”

About the makeup artist

“Zareen did my makeup and gave me exactly what I wanted. She was amazing to work with!” said the gorgeous bride.

About the photographer

“Sutej Pannu is the best photographer in Chandigarh. He was very quick in getting the shots he needed and didn’t ask us to pose unnecessarily. He made sure we were candid and delivered exceptionally beautiful pictures. We cannot thank him enough!”

Tip from the bride

“The main issue I encountered was time management. I left a lot of things for the last-minute and eventually ended up running around to get things in order. This is something you should definitely avoid!”
